Gift of Community
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20
We were created for community. We need community. Without each one of us, the Body of Christ is incomplete and it cannot thrive, yet community can also be one of the most challenging aspects of life with chronic illness.
As we begin to share life authentically in the context of a small group, whether online or in person, we begin to discover who we are together as the Body of Christ: praying for and encouraging one another, lifting each other up, loving and caring for one another, bearing with each other, worshipping, confessing, serving, forgiving, honoring, crying and rejoicing with one another.
Small groups may look very different. Your group might meet in person at a local coffee shop, church or private home, or your group might meet virtually via Facebook Video, Google Hangouts or Skype. We have only one important rule – we encourage groups of no more than six members, so each person feels loved, seen and heard.
The Gift of Community grew out of own desire to do life together. By removing barriers, providing resources and offering encouragement to step into community, Chronic Joy Ministry is here to equip you with everything you need to build small groups that thrive:
- Up to six copies of Discovering Hope: Beginning the Journey Toward Hope in Chronic Illness
- A copy of Grace, Truth & Time: Facilitating Small Groups That Thrive
- Prayer postcards
- Reproducible prayer request cards
- Additional resources available under the Leaders tab
**International requests will receive Discovering Hope and Grace, Truth & Time. – Some restrictions may apply.

Books to Encourage and Inspire at Your FingertipsWhen the difficult journey of chronic illness enters our lives, books can quickly become some of our best friends. C.S. Lewis wrote, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to satisfy me." While book length and number...
Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry. Prayer for a thriving Chronic Joy community has been our heart from the very beginning, though logistically, we've been challenged as those in our community are spread across the world. Yet in God’s perfect timing, He reveals each next step,...
As a ministry we are blessed with the gifts, donations and support of many. Please know that we live by scripture and provide what we offer. However, our intention is to provide to individual groups who most need a gift and not to provide materials for a church ministry program. We are pleased to provide discounted pricing in our store. **International restrictions may apply. (Due to changes in Australian law, we will no longer be able to offer this option.)
